Environment Poem

From an ancient caldera to the 4 basic elements that make up our earth… the hot mud continues to bubble.

Elemental Rebirth

© Troy E. Camplin

In an ancient caldera the paint pot,
Brings together each of the four ancient,
Elements; the heat from very recent,
Magma-fire pushing air through the hot,
Mixture of earth and water, mud bubbling,
In an earthen vase, all the splatter-rings,
Not settling before the next bubble brings,
New splatter-rings. Each bubble is troubling,
The surface and viewer standing above,
Magma shallow enough to make its fire,
Turn water so soon to air, and require,
Us to fear this beautiful land we love.
These paint pots bubble, hot mud giving birth,
To old forms of fire, water, air, and earth.
