Water Poems: 10/12
Nature, Water

Safe

© Nicole Mayerck

I descend through the wet silk dew
Cold air meets my face
Silence
Stars smile at my presence
I look out to the never-ending abyss
Black
Water
Skyline of the trees mesh
With the dark
Ominous night
Cracked wood
I sit
Warm water greets my
Tiny feet
Long strands of fuzzy seaweed
All around me now
Relaxed
On my back
I gaze up at the world
There are no words
But I can hear them
Safety
Breathing
In
And out
Heartbeat
Realization
From the water
Suddenly
A splash in the distance
Or is it close?
I’m not alone.
