Season Poem

Winter is waiting.

In Winter

© Jessica A. Wiggins

In winter,
With the soft snow,
Flowing 'round,
Coating the trees,
Like lies,
That melts,
Into icy teardrops,
Crying out,
For the warmth,
Of love,
Of spring's,
First kiss,
And summer's romance,
Winter baits me,
With candied sugar,
Sprinkled liberally,
Over my life,
Tempting to taste,
The sweet green leaves,
Frozen beneath,
Hiding from,
The taste of longing,
Of love lost,
And life waiting.
