Nature, Bird

Sparrows

Sparrows

Birds in a
bare bush
beneath quiet
noonday beams,
tail flicking,
preening,
dreaming Spring dreams.

There, on the
high branch
backs to the sun
– sparrows –
steeped warm.

A calm March
has begun.
