Rain Poem

Rain Around

© Karel Mckenzie
Rain dripping around me like torture
splashing like Earthquakes into the pond
tidal waves to frogs and toads
but nothing more than a quiver to us.

Rain is pelting down now
desperately trying to get through the water proof canvas on my tent
and it will find a way, I will find myself dripping in the morning.

Morning has come and there is no more rain
the sun is blazing
the only sign of the rain is the bleak puddle
on the green grass but I look behind me and there is a black storm cloud
and then I know the sun will not stay for long and the rain will conquer again.
