Animal Poem
This poem is aimed at children mainly, but my adult friends do enjoy it! I hope you do too :)
Donkey
© Melita Cadiz
Working hard, he can not stop,
No matter how much he may want to,
He’s only small, but he does not complain,
He plods through the sun and the rain,
With only high spirits to give him strength.
He’s happy and he’s well-behaved,
But jealousy fills his aching sides
As he thinks of those grand stallions and cries,
Oh what he could have been!
He can’t compare to their magnificent splendour,
With dirty hooves and large front jaws
He really wants to be a horse.
