Tree Poem

Trees protect all the life and living organisms around them.

The Protectors

© Sergio Chavez

We are tall, old, and strong.
The whooshes of the wind blow past us.
We whisper to each other.
Blankets of moss grow around us.
We stand over all the small.
We sing like whispers passing through.
We shade the grass.
Winds try to knock us down, but fail.
We stand as one, side by side guarding this sanctuary like the ones before us.
We tell the animals of stories of battles we've seen and fought.
We are immortal.
We let no one leave this sanctuary.
We house many animals in our long periods of time.
We are the protectors, the trees.
