Mountain Poem

Mountain High

© Sueann Nickerson

Steep and blue in the whistling wind,
Webbed feet scoot across,
A lonesome pasture.
Trees shiver in their vivid costumes,
Changing with the dark side,
Of the moon.
Curious on an unsteady slope,
Humans love life by foot,
Sharing secrets, passing shadows over a white slippery jacket.
While angels move like smoke rings, scattering overhead.
The pastel tides,
Split and arch like rainbows,
Alive, protecting Mother Earth,
By a landslide.
